If you are a bit of a DNS geek, you should look into our API. This API might be the only of its kind in the entire world, which makes it very unique!
Basically every function that exists on dnsinfo.dk, exists in the API. That makes it super easy to integrate the functions into your own website, or in an app.
Partly free API
To make sure everyone can try the API without having to spend any money, all registered users get 10 API lookups free of charge every month – and 100 free lookups (value $14.99) first time you register!
If 10 lookups is not enough, you can always buy more in the shop. Presently, there are 6 different sizes of packages, depending on your needs.
If you don’t already have an account, start by creating one.
When your account is created and you visit your profile, there is a tab named “API“. In this tab, you will find everything related to the API; tokens, remaining credit and lookup history.
In the documentation you will find everything you need to get started using the API, with both a list of endpoints and code examples.
Frequently asked questions
Is there an option to subscribe for the API?
At this time, it is not possible to subscribe or buy a membership for the API.
As the DNS API is a brand new feature, we have to check the popularity and usage before we determine whether to add subscriptions or automatic payments of any kind.
Is it possible to buy larger amounts of credit?
This is currently not possible, however you can always buy multiple packs, and get more credit that way.
If you spend at least 2000 DKK (around $600), you can get a 10% discount by applying the coupon code api2k.
If you are looking for very large amounts for bigger projects, we can most likely make a special deal for you. If that’s the case, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and describe your needs.
How often are updates released?
Updates are not released very often. When there is an update for the API, you can be sure it is thoroughly tested on the website first.
The API is being versioned, which means that even major updates will not affect your current integration, as every update will have a new version number.
In the API tab in your account, we will let you know when there’s a new update. That will allow you to test everything, before switching versions.
